3 for three
I got some questions for ya:

If you could only watch 3 TV shows for the rest of your life, which would they be?

If you could only visit 3 blogs for the rest of your life, which would they be?

If you could only do 3 of your favorite things for the rest of your life, which would they be?

I'm not answering now, I actually don't have the time. (homework, arrrrgh!) but I wanted to toss this out there.

P.S. This is for princess prissy pants who asked me what I thought of the Buffy movie. Well, I enjoyed parts of it, the parts with Kristy and Luke Perry, and the part at the prom where he gives her the paper flower and they dance and when they drive away on his motorcycle. It was a much a sillier movie than I'm sure Joss wanted, but he was able to salvage one of the best shows of the 90's out of it, and create my favorite obsession. He is a genius.

I am swamped with school work, namely reading and preparing for presentations. This totally sucks because I haven't had time to make my rounds to my fav blogs (you know who you are) and post. Sigh.

I miss you guys. I hope to catch up this weekend. At any rate, I'm off now to do schoolwork. TIRED, TIRED, TIRED!

Oh, and hungry. What is everyone having for dinner. I'd like some. LOL. Check you guys later, oh and thanks to the new posters! I love to see new commenters. (um, is that a word?) It gives me a happy.

Rock On!
If you could be any rock star for a year, living or dead, or even the frontman for a group, who would you be?

Even though I'm a girl I'm gonna toggle between Prince, Sting, Bono, Simon LeBon and Jim Morrison. At the height of their popularity of course. I can't imagine being the frontman for Duran Duran or The Doors when they were mega hot.

hmmm, *Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand, just like that river twisting through a dusty land, and when she shines she really shows you all she can, oh Rio, Rio dance across the Rio Grand...!"

Would Rio be a cool name for a girl, I wonder... Just kidding! ;)

Stretch Dude and Clobber Girl!
If you watch The Simpsons, then you know where the title of this blog comes from. ;) Man, I love The Simpsons. Anyway, my sister works in a school and she brought home a Superman book that basically had every villian ever created for the show. Some of those villians I had never even heard of.

Anyway, then I saw this Simpsons episode which was a Treehouse of Horror and Bart and Lisa got superpowers. I don't think I'd like to be Super Stretch though.

However, I was thinking about superheros and I think out of all of them Superman does have the best superpowers. I watch a lot of Smallville and the superspeed, heat vision, near invulnerability and superstrength are really great. I'd like to have those powers.

I can't think up a clever enough superhero name, that takes too much thought right now, but these are the powers I'm giving myself (and yes, I'm stealing most of them) :

Super strength
Super hearing
Heat vision
Super speed
Invisability
Stopping time
Time reverse
Invernability
Bullet proof
Manipulate and control water

Yea for Books!
I love to snuggle in bed and read. Really, there's nothing better than immersing myself in a good story. But, since I'm in school right now, textbooks just ain't cutting it. There are two books I want to preorder: Stephen King's Cell and Laurell K. Hamilton's (LKH) Dance Macabre.

Yes, I'd like to say I'm preparing to read something important or serious or classic like Catcher in the Rye or War and Peace, alas, I'm not.

"Cell" is about people who receive the apocalypse through their cell phones and it turns them into mindless drones/zombies. Interesting and sounds like something that King would come up with. I'm still reading his The Dark Tower series.

I actually don't know what this next installment of LKH's book is about, but it isn't coming out until June. It will, of course, follow her heroine Anita Blake in her life as a Vampire Slayer emotional ups and downs with her lovers. Yum! I can't wait.

Rock the party and be your own DJ!
A long time ago on a show called Ally McBeal Ally's therapist suggested she get a theme song. A song that she would hear in her head to rev her up, get her going and be her personal theme. Like what Rocky had. Or even the Shark from Jaws. Anyway, you get the picture.

My sister brought it up yesterday and I tried to find a theme song me but I couldn't quite decide on one. Suppossedly, it should be unique to you, be special and size up your personality or at least be encouraging to you when you need a boost or pick me up.

I've narrowed it down to five. Then I'll decide. Here they are:

"Get Happy" Judy Garland
"Hollow Life" Korn
"Holiday" Green Day
"What You Waiting For?" Gwen Stefani
"Big Time" Peter Gabriel

I'm still thinking, but those are the top contenders. Please, feel free to tell me yours. You know I want to know.

sing, sing out loud...and promotion

American Idol starts tonight. Am I going to watch? Of course. Mainly because I like the auditions and only the auditions. I come back to the show about a couple of weeks before it's over because I think it drags on too long, gets phony and boring. Plus, it's taking up Prison Break time. Not good.

The best wannabe's are the ones who think they can sing but really can't. You've seen them. They look completely stricken and angry when the panel passes, or says they just 'don't have it'. They're totally shocked as they spit and curse in the camera outside the room, they declare that Simon will be sorry when they've finally 'arrived.' Ha! Not to laugh at people's dreams, I want to be a writer and I would be just as devastated if a panel of Stephen King, John Grishom and Terry McMillian laughed in my face as they burned my manuscript in a garbage can.

Still, I think you basically know if you have talent. Right? Some people have talent, some people have lots of talent, some people have hidden talent and some have none. I guess it's even worse when all you want to do is sing but you sound like a dying goat. When someone tells you to find another passion and pursue it, it's hard for some people to handle it.

Oh well. I guess those poor souls will figure it out eventually. Meanwhile, I'll get back to my writing. More on that later.

P.S. My sister has a webpage for her podcast and while she doesn't know I'm scavanging for her, she'd like a mark on her 'frapper map' which is basically just an arrow that states where a visitor is from. But it also says someone stopped by.

If you could be so kind as to follow this link and then click "Map Me" you should show up on the map at the state you live in. Thanks!

Mission: Complete
After watching Carlito's Way last night, which is sooo good by the way, I started talking movies with my sister and we hit on Pulp Fiction, the cool creation by Quinten Tarantino. I'm sure you know the movie.

Anyway, one of several scenes we joke about (besides the needle-in-the-chest scene) is when Uma Thurman describes the pilot she made called Fox Force Five where their premise is a bunch of foxy chicks have these cool special skills they use to fight crime, and hers was knives.

So, it got me thinking, if I were to put together an elite crime team, who would I use and what skills would they have? While their team was a bunch of women, I decided to make an exception in this case.

I also added a bit supernatural/scifi element. Here's my team as the Mission Profile would read:

The Operation

When an unknown legion of terrorist take over a quaint village in far North Europe for purposes of experimentation and implementation of a newly designed, but incredibly secretative microchip to be inserted into the brain in order to destroy the higher brain functions and turn the host into mindless military automatons, the NSA unleashes the highly covert and elite intelligence gathering subagency--Fifth Veil--in order to gather information, eleminate the threat and destroy all traces of the microchip and its hosts without alerting the public, the media or other government officials.

Unlucky 13
It's Friday the 13th. Do you feel lucky punk? Well, do ya? If you don't you might have a phobia of Friday the 13th, which is called--take a deep breath--paraskevidekatriaphobia. That's our new word for the day boys and girls.

There's a lot of myths and reasons as to why Friday the 13th is unlucky. Here's a pretty interesting tidbit I found. It's about the Knights Templar:

"On October 13, 1307, a day so infamous that Friday the 13th would become a synonym for ill fortune, officers of King Philip IV of France carried out mass arrests in a well-coordinated dawn raid that left several thousand Templars — knights, sergeants, priests, and serving brethren — in chains, charged with heresy, blasphemy, various obscenities, and homosexual practices. None of these charges was ever proven, even in France — and the Order was found innocent elsewhere — but in the seven years following the arrests, hundreds of Templars suffered excruciating tortures intended to force 'confessions,' and more than a hundred died under torture or were executed by burning at the stake."

Pretty good reason to feel funny about that date, I'd say. I wanted to be witty with all these facts for you but I'm worried/frustrated about this Policy Memo I have to write for class and have no idea where to start.

Today was definetly like Friday the 13th for me. First, I missed my bus and it was raining, then it started some weird ice snow. Ugh. I didn't have an umbrella and I cut my finger on one of the rings of my notebook.

To make matters worse? I got a letter about my loan repayment.

Someone kill me now, please.

Resident Eeeeevil

I'm still playing Resident Evil 4, yes I love video games. What of it? (That is a very good site I have linked, by the way) Any way, I'm almost through and I fit in a level or two in between studying or watching TV.

One day me and my sister were talking about the next generation of video games and where could they go from here, because if you haven't played video games in a while, especially on the Xbox or Xbox 360, then you don't know how the video game world has improved. We've come a long way since Centipede.

So, we were saying (jokingly) that the evolution of gameplay would be some form of Artifical Intelligence or you actually get transfered into the video game and play as the hero. I said, 'oh, that would be cool' but then I considered the games I like to play and I'm not sure if that would be the ideal playing environment.

But I thought about it again and decided that if I really were to get sucked into a video game, which one would it be and what hero or heroine would I like to play. Hmm. I certainly enjoy the Splinter Cell series, so actually playing as Sam Fisher would be kick ass.

As for rules, well, with exception to the dying part, it'll be just like the game. You can reset it or "Continue" every time the chainsaw wielding maniac chops your head off, so you're not actually being killed. You just traverse the game world as it was made and find all the little trinkets, and ammo and gold discs or save the girl, or save the world, or whatever else you have to do to finish the game. And when you're done, you will hit a button and zap back to the real world.

We're not going to get to technical, but everything always works, no getting stuck in Liberty City or Athens or anything like that.

Anyway, even though I'm a girl and I seriously considered Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider series, I'm gonna go with Leon Kennedy (the guy in the pic) from Resident Evil 4 as well as all of the Resident Evil series.

I just like the guy, I LOVE the game, love the series and it's a lot of fun to play. If you're wondering if I'm actually crazy or not, maybe you should see a past post that may clear up a few things for you. I like the gory. Especially in my fun and games.

Putting myself in a game environment like Resident Evil is definetly insane, but is this where we're headed in the year 3088? I don't know, but it should make for some hella entertainment.

Dinner For Five

There is a show on the Independent Film Channel (IFC) called Dinner For Five that I really like. I haven't seen it for a while, I missed one whole season but I caught up with a few episodes through Netflix.

It's hosted by John Favreau, who you may or may not know, but you've probably seen his face in a few bit parts in movies. One thing I remember him is he was Ben Affleck's friend in Electra, which none of you have probably seen.

At any rate, the gist of the show is John sits around with guests in the TV world, movies, music, screenwriters, but mostly film, in general and they talk over a real dinner about their experiences and whatnot. It's usually very entertaining, funny and informative--but it depends on the guests. Some guests are boring. His guests lists included guests like Seth Green, Vince Vaughn, Katie Holmes, Jennifer Garner, Colin Farrell, Kevin Pollak and Jeff Goldblum to name a few. If you don't reconize the names you'd probably recognize the faces.

I started thinking about the show one day because it's been so long since I've seen it and I started thinking about what kind of guests I'd like to see, and what guests I'd like to see together. Guests with different personalities and experiences make for good dinner conversaton. So I'm putting together my own dinner parties of five. I'm branching out a bit to include musicians, and artists. But I'd like to stay in the realm of entertainment.

I'm doing three because I couldn't narrow it down to just one dinner party. I'd also like to know who you would invite to a dinner for five, (you and four other people) living or dead, if you'd like to tell me.

Anyway, here are my guest lists for three separate dinners:

Dinner #1

Gunngirl
Leonardo DaVince
Leonardo DiCaprio
Prince
Jenna Jamison

Dinner #2

Gunngirl
Gary Dourdan (Warrick on CSI)
Janis Joplin
Paul Walker
Wentworth Miller (Prison Break)

Dinner #3

Gunngirl
Richard Pryor
Tom Welling
Angelina Jolie
Brad Pitt

A sorta...bad computer day
I'm back in school, but it's too early to say just how much I hate it yet. However, I will say the hate is in the 6-7 range because I now know I have to do at least two presentations. It's only at 6-7 because the second presentation is part of a group. Still, when my prof. said past students did a skit I was like 'what the hell?' I'm not trying to be that elaborate, or that chatty and emotional. I HATE PUBLIC SPEAKING!

Did you hear me? Let me say it again. I HATE PUBLIC SPEAKING!! Ahem, to continue, there is also a lot of writing in each course, but thankfully, some writing is limited to only one page, while another class the most is 5-8 pages. Yes, I will be on the side of 5 pages, thank you very much. But the papers don't seem that hard to do, so I'll not complain. Yet.

Anyway, my computer is really S.L.O.W. today, and it's driving me crazy. I'm so not in the mood to do anything on it, so I'll keep this post short and sweet.

I really like Tori Amos and just about any songs of hers I love. She had a live concert on channel 11 one time and it was really good. My favorite song of hers is Cornflake Girl. I just love it. I also really, really enjoy A Sorta Fairytale, which I had playing on a loop in my iTunes a few days ago. If you like Tori's music and have a favorite song, please let me know.

I'm not posting lyrics. (does anyone read posted lyrics anyway?) So, if you're curious about Tori and so inclined, you can go to toriamos.com or for a speedier connection if you have dial-up tori.com

Enjoy!

Warning: Pictures may offend--or freak out
I'm a big fan of Todd McFarlane and if you've never heard of him, then more than likely you not as twisted as I am. If you have, and you like his work, then welcome to the twisted club! Okay, maybe I should just speak for myself.

I've been enjoying his morbid, dark and just plain crazy action figures for years, and now I have finally learned that when his stuff comes out and if I want it to just BUY IT! Here's my gripe:

He comes out with these series every year. Sometimes they're ultra cool, sometimes they're not. His latest was the Infernal Parade that had a story line and everything and I was able to buy a lot of those, so I'm happy. It featured a train car of sorts, of a ringmaster, swordswallower, freaks, an iron maiden and a couple of others. It rocked, but only had two really good characters. (see below)

But before that one he did a series called McFarlane's Monsters Series: Twisted Land of Oz. Yes, it's what you think it is. He took the characters from The Wizard of Oz and totally fucked them up. He made them total freaks--but they're very cool, in an insane, dark, twisted, rockin' way. But they're usually $12.99 when they come out.

Not that that's a lot of money, but it usually is to me, especially when I think these things are cool but totally unneccessary to own, and they just become something to want instead of need, and when you think about buying all 5 or 6 then you're talking over $60 at one time. Which is why I try and narrow it down to the one or two I really want.

So, I always slink away saying I'm going to come back later, but the series' are only in "novelty" type stores and they don't stay out for long. Case in point, the Twisted Land of Oz (2003) is now on ebay going for over $70 for just one figure.

I have pictures of the ones I want and the one I have. One day I might be able to splurge for the ones I want, but that day is in a galaxy far, far away.

Here's the one I bought for my sister. (sword swallower) best one #2
This is Bethany Bled, the one she really wanted, but I couldn't find. (my point again) best one #1
Dorothy just plain rocks freaky bondage butt. (she is on ebay now for over $100)
here's another one of Dorothy
This Red Riding Hood isn't scared of the big bad wolf or worried about picking flowers.

These are bit more monsterous, but the details are great, I still want them, and it plays right into my love and fear for movies like Hellraiser. They're from the Clive Barker's Tortured Souls 2--The Fallen series. Clive Barker and Todd McFarlane teamed up. BE WARNED.
Zain
Moribundi
Lucidique
Talisac (this one might be took horrid for even me)
Scythe Meister
Venal Anatomic
Agonistes

These next few (which I own) is from McFarlane's Six Faces of Madness series
Billy the Kidd
Rasputin
Jack the Ripper

Over before you can pop the popcorn
I discovered this site and it is HI-LA-RIOUS! And it's also so cute! at Angry Alien Productions, you can watch 30 second movies from Star Wars to Pulp Fiction and what's so cool is that they capture the whole movie, really summing it up.

It's very funny, and at only 30 seconds, you can't beat a quick laugh, cute bunnies and a poke of fun at a few of your favorite movies.

My favorite was Pulp Fiction and The Shining. If you check it out and have a favorite, let me know.

Sad New Year For Some
It was pretty sad to hear about the coal miners in West Virginia. I can't imagine thinking your loved one is alive--then not. It's like a cruel, cruel joke. I think the news/reporters was so eager to get out any dabble of good news to people who were asking, standing around and waiting that they jumped the gun.

What can you say after you say something like that? "Oops, sorry. We thought they really were alive."

Also, yesterday I saw three funeral processions within five minutes of each other. I couldn't believe it! I was on the bus heading to the train station and we had to wait for a funeral procession to turn the corner in front of us. Then, we turn the corner and going straight down the street was another funeral procession not a minute after the last one.

Then, I was still on the bus and went down the street and rounded another corner and going down the street was ANOTHER funeral. I could not belive it. For that to happen all of those people would have died on the same day or at least a day before or after one another. Freaky. And at the beginning of the new year too. Sad.

Continuing down the dreary road, I start school soon and am not happy about that. However, I'll be glad to graduate and be completely open to work, instead of trying to find work that will accomodate my school schedule, which includes one night class. YUCK! At least it's on a Monday, nothing is on TV on Monday night. I'm a TV whore in case you didn't know.

I'll be glad to turn over a new leaf in my life. It's way past due for that leaf to turn. It's about 10 years to late, but I'm going to have faith that good things can and will happen to me. It's about darn time I get some good luck.

Hope you guys are doing okay out there! *hugs*

Is it weird of is it memorex?
I got this from mud pie BG I haven't done one in a while.

5 Weird Habits: (I guess you can call these habits. I'm not sure)

1. I tear or cut the edges off bread or toast. I just don't like 'em and I never butter toast anymore. I stopped that years, and years ago. I don't even like the taste of buttered toast anymore.

2. I have to turn the lights out in the bathroom before bed. From my bedroom I can see the light from the bathroom and it seems so bright and disturbing. I turn it all the way off instead of dimming it.

3. I can't have a sandwich unless I have my provalone cheese. If I'm out, I won't eat one. I do the same with Nachos, if I don't have sour cream, I won't fix it until I buy some.

4. I have bars in my headboard and I always grip them while I fall asleep. Funny, because no one ever tied me to my headboard or anything. (Not that there's anything wrong with that)

5. I still sleep with stuffed animals. Not many, just a stuffed Grinch in a santa suit that my sister bought me and a Popple that I still have from years ago. They're always in my bed.

And on a side note. I watched The View today and they were talking about how long should you say Happy New Year and one of the hosts said until Feb 1. and another said during the first week of January. I think all of January is okay to still say Happy New Year. What do you think?

Manic Monday
Okay, today wasn't manic monday. Actually, aside from some house cleaning and going out to buy chicken at KFC, today was pretty uneventful. I basically just wanted to blog. I know the holidays slowed down some blogging, but I'm happy to see some of my favorite bloggers are back in action.

So, it's 2006. I know it's early, but has the new year been good to you so far? Okay, yes, it is too early for that question.

Well, I didn't make any resolutions. I stopped with that crap back in the 90's. Waste. Of. Time. I say, if you're going to do something, do it, you don't need a list. You know if you you're going to do something or not. My main resolutions should be to get a job and lose weight. Well, I'm hoping to do the former big time.

I would like to lose say, 30 or 40 pounds before summer. Every summer I wish I could go out in a tank or shorty-shorts or a belly shirt or something and I can't! (for the record, for those out there who can shamelessly wear a belly shirt and/or a tank, I hate you! unless you're one of my blog readers)

It's a good feeling to at least believe that with the new year there can be good changes. I need good changes to counteract the bad.

Either way, I love all my readers who keep me entertained, laughing and for providing helpful tips, suggestions and encouragement. You guys rock.

I have only a few short days left before school and I'm not looking forward to it. So, I'm going to go back to watching Chappelle's Show Season 2 because I need the distraction and the laughs.

Serioulsy, those episodes are freakin' hilarious.

P.S. I would also like to wish the Diva a happy anniversary. I couldn't comment on that post, and I think she wanted it that way. But what I would have said was congratulations! I'm a sucker for romance, AND just so happens I love Alanis Morrisette. I have 3 of her albums ;)
